A few days ago I told you about a Plant Scavenger Hunt that I created for my kids. Today was the big day!
# 14: Find a plant with palmate leaves. Ta da!!!
I put their checklists on a clipboard that opens up. Inside, I stored extra pencils. My two olders each had their own list. My youngest just helped his brothers.
#13: Find a plant with spines. Check!
#3: Find a stamen on a flower. Gorgeous!

#23: Find a plant that grows where it is very wet. Middle of pond? I think that counts!
#24: Find a plant that you eat. Yummy!
My 5yo thinking, “I wish I could read. I wonder what that sign says…….”
Anyone else find it funny that the ones climbing the rocks are the ones that can’t read the signs?
#5: Find a bee, butterfly, or hummingbird on a flower. Beautiful!
#9: Find a monocot. (parallel veins on it’s leaves.) I think this is a monocot. Botanists….feel free to correct me!
#10: Find a dicot. (leaves have branching veins) I am just a mom turned wanna-be-botanist in the name of educating my munchkins! I think I am right, but I might not be! So…please extend grace in the case of mess-ups!
Last, but not least………..MY FAVORITE PLANT OF ALL TIME……………
